Chiefs’ Softball Diamond

Waubonsee’s softball diamond is on the northeast side of the Sugar Grove campus, adjacent to the baseball field. From foul pole to foul pole the diamond has a symmetrical seven-foot high outfield fence that is 200 feet from home plate. An electronic scoreboard beyond the left field fence helps keep fans and players informed. Elevated bleacher seating for spectators behind home plate gives fans a fantastic vantage point of the games. Down the left field and right field lines there is also lawn seating areas allowing fans to bring their favorite chair if they desire. In addition, there are double bullpens in the left field and right field corners for both team's pitchers. Beyond the first base dugout there are two outdoor hitting tunnels with artificial turf, space for hitting stations and the field maintenance building. There is an additional storage area attached to the first base dugout, along with a double window concession stand. The entire site is a very short walk from the college's North Parking Lot and easily accessable washrooms in the adjacent Waubonsee Field House.
