ON THIS DATE IN CHIEFS BASEBALL

ON THIS DAY --- May 2, 2014

With more than 100 former players on hand throughout the day, representing five decades (1970's, 1980's, 1990's, 2000's and 2010's) of Chiefs' baseball, head coach Dave Randall guides the Chiefs on their home field for the last time in his 37 years at the helm. To the delight of the Waubonsee faithful the Chiefs win both games over visiting Highland Community College 11-2 and 4-2. The sweep gives Randall, who always wore uniform #8, a memorable home finale and at the time poetically 888 career coaching wins. The Hall of Fame coach's final Waubonsee team would go on to win the Region 4 title and finish fourth at the 2014 NJCAA Division III World Series in Tyler, Texas.
