Chiefs second in ISCC at midway point

(Lemont, IL) –Waubonsee Community College's golfers carded a team total of 344 to place third at the third Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference (ISCC) match of the season held at Ruffled Feathers Golf Course. Oakton Community College grabbed the top spot for the third straight time with a score of 325 to take a commanding lead in the standings with 15 points, comfortably ahead of the second-place Chiefs' tally of 9 points. The College of Lake County, the defending ISCC Champions, is third with 8 points at the midway point of the conference schedule.

At Ruffled Feathers the Chiefs' Cody Ganzon took medalist honors for the day with a 7-over par 79 to be the only competitor to finish with a score under 80. Oakton's league-leading trio of Ryan Belz, Matt Smith and Daniel Allegretti posted scores of 80, 81 and 82 respectively. Waubonsee's Isaiah McCumber fired an 86, Kyle Ryan finished with an 88 and Isaac McCumber tallied a 91 to round out the scoring for coach Dusty Darnold's Chiefs. Gavin Woods ended the day with a 94, while Emilee Schultz turned in a 111 and Carson Redfern had a 138 to complete Waubonsee's participants.

The Chiefs are in action again on Wednesday, September 20 when they travel to Heritage Oaks Golf Course in Northbrook for their fourth ISCC match of the season beginning at 12:30 p.m.
