Waubonsee’s Field House

The centerpiece of Chiefs’ Athletics is Waubonsee’s Field House complex adjacent to Erickson Hall Gymnasium. The building contains the Athletic Department Offices, including a conference room, cubicle area for coaches, a coach’s locker room and a mail room. The Field House features two multi-purpose courts for basketball, volleyball, tennis, cheerleading and other activities. A turf area at the south end of the building accommodates practices for soccer, baseball and softball. Three batting cages for baseball, softball and even golf can be lowered down on the middle court, while all three areas can be separated by a floor-to-ceiling curtain. A three-lane elevated 1/8 mile running track encircles the spacious Field House, which also has a high quality sound system and energy efficient lighting throughout.

Two large locker rooms with secure access for the student-athletes are located on the east side of the building. Connected to each locker room are Team Rooms with state-of-art touch screens for analyzing game or practice video. Between both of those areas is a top-notch Training Room with five taping tables, four examination tables, hot and cold bath tubs and an office for the college’s full-time certified Athletic Trainer.

There is a full service Concession Stand adjacent to the main entrance, capable of serving both cold and hot meals. Right next to it is an elevator for easy access to the second floor. On the second floor there is a spacious Aerobic and Dance studio with a nightclub caliber sound system. There are also two large classrooms with built-in multi-media capabilities to accommodate classes or team meetings. Trophy cases on both the first and second floor highlighting all the Chiefs’ success and winning tradition over the years.
