Chiefs' McAuley named NJCAA Player of the Week

(Colorado Springs, Colo.) - Waubonsee Community College's Josh McAuley was named the NJCAA Division II Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the second week of November. The Chiefs' 6'8" center scored 77 points and hauled down 40 rebounds in Waubonsee's three games during the week to win the national award. The Aurora West High School alumnus started the season by posting four straight double-doubles in points and rebounds. Currently sidelined with a hamstring injury, McAuley is fourth nationally in scoring among all NJCAA Division II players with a 29.8 points-per-game average. The sophomore is also averaging 15 boards a game, which ties him for second nationally in that category. McAuley is shooting 61 percent (45 of 74) from the floor and 74 percent (28 of 38) from the foul line on the season thus far for a Chiefs' team that is currently 3-2 overall.
