Leak stops Chiefs and Spartans, rescheduled Feb. 16

(Sugar Grove, IL.) -  Waubonsee Community College's men's basketball team (12-7, 4-0) jumped out to a quick 6-0 lead in their Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference (ISCC) match-up against visiting Elgin Community College (16-5, 3-2). But the Chiefs never got a chance to 'pour it on' after that. Instead, a water pipe burst in an overhead heating unit in Erickson Hall, suddenly raining down on the court a little more than two minutes into the game. After approximately 30 minutes Waubonsee personnel were unable to get the leak completely under control, forcing the postponement of the contest. The game has been rescheduled for Saturday, February 16 beginning at 1:00 p.m. on the Chiefs' court. The contest will resume from the point that it was halted with Waubonsee in front 6-0 and 17:45 on the clock.

The Chiefs are set to play again next Tuesday, January 29 when they travel to north suburban Grayslake to battle the College of Lake County. Jim Williams' women's team set to play the Lancers beginning at 5:15 p.m. while Dave Heiss' men's squad takes the court at 7:15 p.m. (CDT). Waubonsee returns home next Thursday, January 31 when they host ISCC foe Oakton Community College with the women's game starting at 5:15 p.m. and the men's contest at 7:15 p.m. in Erickson Hall.
