Chiefs finish second at Randall Oaks

(West Dundee, IL.) - Waubonsee Community College's golfers finished second at the fourth Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference (ISCC) match of the season. Dave Heiss' Chiefs carded a team total of 311 to finish 10 strokes behind the College of Lake County. Jake Hed paced the Chiefs with a 4-over par 76 to place sixth on the individual leaderboard. The sophomore from Kaneland High School shot a 37 on the front nine and a 39 on the back side at the Randall Oaks Golf Course. Both Aaron Collmann and Jack Thayer booked 78's, while Jackson Clark and Andrew Nelson each tallied rounds of 79.

Lake County's Konnor Kininmonth won medalist honors with a 1-under par 71 as he edged teammate Karl Torola for the top spot. Korola fired a blistering 33 on the front nine before settling with an even par 72. Oakton Community College was four shots behind the Chiefs in third, while Moraine Valley was a distant fourth with a 322 team total. With the victory Lake County essentially clinched the top spot in the ISCC with one conference match to remaining on Monday, October 1 at Sportsman's Country Club in Mundelein. The Lancers currently have 15 points, Oakton is second with 11 points and Waubonsee is third with 10 points.
