Chiefs' golfers finish 3rd at Randall Oaks

(West Dundee, IL.) -  Waubonsee Community College golfers finished a distant third in the second Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference (ISCC) match of the 2020 season. The Chiefs tallied a team score of 329, well back of the College of Lake County's total of 307 and the host school Elgin Community College's 309. Waubonsee was led individually by Austen Velazquez who carded an 8-over par 79 at the Randall Oaks Golf Course in West Dundee. Ben Gorski fired an 81, Branson Vahl turned in an 84, Tony LoPresti was a shot behind him with an 85, and Kade Witt finished with a 92 to round out the Chiefs' competitors. Elgin's Mark Spitzer took medalist honors with a 1-under par 70 to beat out Lake County's Konnor Kinnon by two strokes. Moraine Valley Community College placed fourth with a team total of 335, while Oakton Community College posted a score of 375. Coach Dave Heiss' Chiefs are in action again this coming Monday, September 21, when they host the third ISCC match at Blackberry Oaks Golf Course in Bristol beginning at 12:30 p.m.
