(Byron, IL) - Waubonsee Community College's golfers finished 10th at the Region IV Division II Tournament at the Prairie View Golf Course. The Chiefs tallied a team score of 1068 over the three-day, 54-hole tournament. Bryant & Stratton College from Milwaukee took the team title with a score of 917 to edge Black Hawk College by five strokes. Trevor Meyer paced Waubonsee's contigent of competitors with a total of 255 overall. John Wojcik was not far behind him with a tally of 262, while Michael Elliott carded a 272 and Tony LoPresti finished with a score of 279. Highland Community College's Riku Moriyama, a native of Kobe, Japan, shot a 4-under par 68 on the final day to take medalist honors with a three-day total of 216. Black Hawk College's Luke Lofgren was second, five strokes behind Moriyama. The College of Lake County's Eddie Winklemann was the top performer from the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference, placing fourth overall with a 223 just seven shots back of the leader.
