Chiefs improve at second ISCC match

(Dundee, IL) - Waubonsee Community College's golfers made some major improvement from their first Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference (ISCC) match to the second. Coach Dusty Darnold's Chiefs shot a team score of 336 at Randall Oaks Golf Course on August 31, which was 46 shots better than their season opening match on August 24. However, everyone else showed marked improvement as well as the Chiefs finished third overall. The College of Lake County was first with a team total of 302, while Moraine Valley came in second with a 316. Cody Ganzon led Waubonsee with a 5-over par 76 firing a 35 on the back nine holes of Elgin Community College's home course. Isaac McCumber finished with a 9-over par 80, a 16-shot improvement over his first outing. Gavin Woods carded an 86, while Parker Wrecenyar shot a 94 and Dylan Krol posted a 96 to round out the Chiefs' competitors. Lake County's Eddie Winkelman took medalist honors with a 1-over par 72. Waubonsee is set to hit the links again on Wednesday, September 7 when they play in the third ISCC match hosted by Morton College at Ruffled Feathers Golf Course in Lemont.
