(West Chicago, IL.) - Waubonsee Community College golfers closed out their 2023 season with a ninth-place finish at the Benedictine University Invitational. One of three junior colleges in the field of mostly NCAA Division III schools, the Chiefs tallied a team total of 329 at the St. Andrews Golf and Country Club in the far west suburbs. Cody Ganzon paced Waubonsee by shooting a 5-over par 77, while Gavin Woods finished with a 79. Isaiah McCumber carded an 85 and Kyle Ryan ended his round with an 88. Aurora University, led by former Chiefs' golfer Justin Wyeth, won the team title with a score of 299 to finish 12 stokes ahead of the competition. Aurora's Andrew Schrader took medalist honors by firing a 2-under par 70, finishing the back nine holes with a sizzling 33. Dominican University's James Cerven and the College of DuPage's Hagan Rank tied for second on the leaderboard, just one shot back of Schrader with 1-under par 70's.
