Chiefs handle Sauk Valley for first win

(Dixon, IL.) - Waubonsee Community College's men's tennis team was in control of most of the matches on their way to a 7-2 victory over Sauk Valley Community College. The Chiefs won all seven matches that were held to pick up their first win of the season. Jason Koesler paced Waubonsee's triumph by downing Bryce Stanley 6-3 and 6-0 to win their number one singles match. Koesler then teamed up with Adam Pflederer to dominated the duo of Stanley and Eli Leffelman 6-0 and 6-1 in the number one doubles match.

At number two singles Jacob Riggs prevailed over Leffelman 6-4 and 7-5 in the only close match of the day. Flederer then knocked off Jacob Fane 6-0 and 6-1 at number three singles. Waubonsee's Triston Robb withstood the wrath of Zak Khan defeating him 6-2 and 6-4 at number four singles. Robb then teamed up with Jacob Decker to beat the duo of Fane and Khan 6-1 and 6-4 in number two doubles play. At number five singles Decker swept Jacob Rhodes in straight sets 6-0, 6-0 to secure the Chiefs' victory. Waubonsee, with just five players, forfeited both the number six singles match and the number three doubles match for the Skyhawks only points.
