(LaSalle, IL.) - Waubonsee Community College's Men's Tennis team began their 2019 season with a 4-2 win at Illinois Valley Community College. Both teams had only four players available to participate at the LaSalle-Peru Sports Complex. The Chiefs won both doubles matches to pull out the victory over the Eagles.

Sophomore Triston Robb got Waubonsee going as he edged Justin Ainsley in an exciting number one singles match. The Yorkville High School alumnus took the first set 6-3 before dropping the second set 3-6. In the tie breaker, Robb outlasted Ainsley winning 14-12. Jesus Suarez also defeated Nathan Newman at number three singles 6-4 and 6-3. Robb and Jacob Decker then teammed up at number one doubles, edging the tandem of Ainsley and Nolan Frank 6-3 and 7-6. Suarez and Ulysses Rios clinched the Chiefs' victory by taking their number two doubles match 6-2, 6-2 over Newman and T.J. Moran.
