Chiefs topple McHenry in ISCC play

(Aurora, IL.) -- Waubonsee Community College's men's tennis team evened its' overall record to 3-3 with a convincing victory over McHenry County College. The Chiefs downed the Scots 6-3 to take the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference match on a beautiful spring afternoon at the Washington Middle School tennis court complex. Waubonsee, which improved to 2-1 in conference play, won all six matches that were held.

Sophomore Triston Robb was dominating in his 6-0, 6-1 victory at number one singles over the Scots' Kyle Loeding. Jacob Decker topped McHenry's Charlie Reyes 6-2, 6-3 at number three singles. Ulysses Rios knocked off Nick Fenske in straight sets 6-0, 6-0 at number four singles, and Jesus Suarez followed suit at number six singles beating Jack Mayhez also in straight sets 6-0, 6-0. Robb and Decker teamed up at number one doubles to win 6-2, 6-4 over the tandem of Loeding and Brandon Langreck to clinch the team victory. Rios and Suarez completed the day's action with a 6-0, 6-3 win at number two doubles over the pairing of Reyes and Fenske. The short-handed Chiefs were forced to forfeit the number two singles, number five singles and number three doubles matches.
