Inclement Weather Continues Disrupting Schedule

(Sugar Grove, IL) - Rain, snow flurries and cold temperatures continue to cause postponements for Waubonsee Community College's baseball and softball teams. Coach Rodney Lopez's baseball team (9-7) and coach Joe Spitzzeri's softball squad (3-7) have played just four games combined since they returned from their Spring Break trips to Florida nearly three weeks ago.

Today's Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference softball doubleheader against Morton College has been rained out, the sixth twin bill out of the last seven that's lost out to inclement weather. The match-up between the Chiefs and Panthers has been rescehduled for Monday, April 15 starting at 3:00 p.m. Spitzzeri's crew is slated to play at Ottawa's Peck Park this weekend in the ISCC-Arrowhead "Conference Clash" hosted by Illinois Valley Community College. Waubonsee is set to play Black Hawk College on Saturday at 9:00 a.m., followed by the host school at 11:00 a.m. On Sunday, the Chiefs will square off against Carl Sandburg College at 9:00 a.m. and then take on Highland Community College at 11:00 a.m.

Waubonsee's baseball team was supposed to play at Triton College yesterday before that doubleheader was rained out. The battle between the Chiefs and the Trojans has been rescheduled for Friday, May 3 and moved to Waubonsee's field that day. Weather permitting, Lopez's team is scheduled to host Milwaukee Area (WI) Technical College tomorrow, Friday, April 5 in a double dip beginning at 1:00 p.m. The Chiefs then head to Elgin Community College on Saturday for an ISCC twin bill starting at noon, before returning home on Sunday to host the College of DuPage. Game one of the doubleheader is set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
