(Sugar Grove, IL.) – With nearly forty former Chiefs' players and their families looking on Waubonsee Community College topped Northwestern University's Club team 66-48. The Chiefs, who evened their record at 3-3 overall with the victory, led the entire game as they pressured the Wildcats into 24 turnovers. Afterwards the alumni, featuring players from as far back as 1997, took the court for the first Waubonsee Women's Basketball Alumni Game which was won by the Black Team 68-63 over the Red Team.

Waubonsee raced out to a 21-6 lead at the end of the first quarter by pressuring the Wildcats. Northwestern (2-2) regrouped and out scored the Chiefs 15-13 in the second period to stay in the contest despite making just two of 15 shots from long range in the first half. Hayley Farren booked a dozen first half points to jump start a Chiefs' offense that had eclipsed the 50-point mark just once in five games played.

The Chiefs picked up the intensity again in the third quarter and built their lead to 24 points (51-27) to take control of the game once again. Waubonsee headed into the final stanza with a 51-31 advantage as head coach Jim Williams' liberally utilized his entire roster throughout the game. The Chiefs took their biggest lead of the game midway through the fourth quarter when they went ahead 66-41 on a pair of free throws by Alexia Nicolai. 

Farren finished with 20 points and four assists to lead Waubonsee. Katie Beebe chipped in with 15 points and three steals, while Nicolai booked 10 points and dished out three assists. Kayla Battle grabbed eight rebounds, with Meghan Menzel handing out four assists, snagging six boards and recording three steals. Waubonsee is in action again next Tuesday when they host the Elmhurst College Junior Varsity at 5:30 p.m.
