Waubonsee's Kayla Battle was named the Region IV Division II District L Player of the Week for her performances last week in a pair of Chiefs' victories. The 6'0" sophomore booked a double-double in a 60-41 win at Prairie State College on Tuesday, Jan. 15 scoring 12 points, grabbing 11 rebounds, making 2 steals and handing out an assist. On Thursday, Jan. 17 in the Chiefs' 64-61 triumph over Morton College, the Aurora West alumnus tallied 11 points, snagged 6 boards, recorded 3 steals and dished out four assists. It is the first such award this season for Battle, who is averaging 9.3 points and 8.2 rebounds per game over 16 games played this season.
