TJ Hodges joins Waubonsee’s coaching staff for the 2024-2025 season as the Chiefs’ Assistant Coach. Hodges will assist with Waubonsee’s recruiting, player development, practice plans and game strategy. He coached for five years at Parkland College in central Illinois leading the Cobras to 123 wins overall. Hodges has also spent six seasons as a highly touted AAU coach, and has served as the Director for the KG Superstars AAU program for boys and girls travel teams based in nearby Yorkville. Coach Hodges has held numerous skills training camps for players of all levels through his own company TJ Hodges Basketball. He has also trained and worked with former professional and NCAA Division I players, including Kendall Gill, Sergio McClain and Brian Cook.
A 1992 graduate of Effingham High School in downstate Illinois, Hodges led the perennial powerhouse Flaming Hearts in three-point shooting. A fiesty point guard, he was also the team’s emotional and verbal leader while earning the program’s Mr. Hustle Award his senior year. Away from basketball Hodges owns and operates Grandma Rosie’s Sweet Treats in Yorkville, a mobile ice-cream business that caters to parties and other events around Chicagoland. Coach Hodges and his wife Kristen, who played volleyball at Illinois State University, reside in Yorkville with their three kids, 15-year-old daughter Hayden, 10-year-old son Hudson and four-year old daughter Hannah.
