Chiefs pull away in second half to beat Kishwaukee

(Sugar Grove, IL) - Waubonsee Community College pulled away in the second half to down visiting Kishwaukee College 4-0. The Chiefs (8-5-1) led 1-0 at halftime before scoring three times in the second half to secure the victory. Shelby Key got Waubonsee on the scoreboard just eight minutes into the match with her 12th goal of the year off of an assist from Eliana Zagoren. It remained that way until Ashley Bailey was able to break through in the 57th minute for her third goal of the season with an assist from Marlene Sanchez. In the 80th minute Marisa VanWyhe also booked her third score of the fall with an assist from Lisully Ramirez to make it 3-0 Waubonsee. Olivia Muetze then capped off the game by registereing her sixth score of the year with an assist from VanWyhe in the 85th minute. Alexis Coronilla manned the Chiefs' net in the first half, recording a pair of saves. Skyler Kaelin then preserved the shutout by making one save while in goal in the second half. The Chiefs travel to Fond du Lac, Wisconsin for their next match on Monday, October 14 to take on the Marian University Junior Varsity starting at 7:00 p.m.
