The 2023 season was Brad Schlemmer's 12th at the helm of Waubonsee's program after serving as the Chiefs’ Assistant Coach for three seasons before that. As head coach he is the program’s all-time winningest coach with 142 career coaching victories, eclipsing the 86 his predecessor Leslie (Ferguson) Raney compiled. During his 15 years at Waubonsee Schlemmer has been part of five Region IV titles, three NJCAA District D titles, six Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference (ISCC) crowns, four appearances at the NJCAA National Tournament, and seven Region Runner-up finishes. As a matter of fact, Waubonsee has reached the Region 4 title game 12 times in the 15 seasons Schlemmer has been on the Chiefs' sidelines.

Schlemmer’s 2014 squad grabbed the ISCC title and the Region IV Division I Championship to earn a berth in the National Tournament. Subsequently, he was tabbed the ISCC and Region IV Women’s Soccer Coach of the Year. Due to the Covid pandemic the Chiefs played an abbreviated 2021 Spring season. Led by First Team All-American Olivia McPherson, Schlemmer’s crew went on to capture the ISCC and Region titles to earn a berth in the NJCAA’s first Division II National Tournament, finishing ninth nationally. Waubonsee followed that up in the Fall by going 17-2-1 overall en route to winning the ISCC title and Region IV crown once again. Consequently, Schlemmer was chosen the ISCC and Region Coach of the Year both seasons. Ranked as high as third nationally, the Chiefs knocked off defending National Champion Phoenix (AZ) College in their final pool play match at the 12-team National Tournament, just missing out of the final four due to point differential. Last season Schlemmer's crew captured the ISCC title for the third straight year, posting a 14-1 mark in league play over that span. During his time with the Chiefs' program Waubonsee has collectively won 190 matches, nine players have attained NJCAA All-American status, 43 have been named All-Region, 60 were tabbed All-ISCC First Team and 10 have been chosen ISCC Player of the Year. Under Schlemmer's leadership, more than 55 players have gone on to compete at 4-year colleges after playing at Waubonsee.

Schlemmer played three years on the varsity at Glen Oak High School in Canton, Ohio. He was a co-captain his senior year and named the Golden Eagles’ Offensive Player of the Year and earned the school’s Outstanding Senior Award. During his prep career Schlemmer gained a wealth of additional soccer experience competing with the Akron Canton Premier, traveling to play in numerous out-of-state tournaments and overseas in Denmark. He went on to play three years at Walsh University, an NAIA affiliate in Ohio. Coach Schlemmer returned to his high school alma mater as the boys’ varsity assistant and served in the same capacity at Perry High School in Massillon, Ohio, the following year. He has earned the United Soccer Coaches’ Level 2 Goalkeeper Certification and a “D” Coaching License. Overall Schlemmer brings over 35 years of soccer playing, teaching and coaching experience to the Chiefs’ sidelines. In addition, he oversees Waubonsee’s Christian Athlete group and is an assistant coach with the St. Charles North High School Girls’ Varsity squad.
