(Aurora, IL) - Waubonsee Community College's women's tennis opened the 2019 season with a 9-0 loss to the North Central College Junior Varsity. The Chiefs were swept in each flight by the Cardinals at the Washington Middle School courts on Aurora's west side. Waubonsee's Hailey Wilcox fell 6-4, 6-1 at number one singles, while Elizabeth Egerman lost her number two singles match 6-1, 7-6 (7). Valerie Schallmo dropped a 7-6 (4) and 6-0 match at number three singles, and Lauren Weber was on the short end of a 6-2, 6-1 score at number four singles. Katy Biard also lost 6-2, 6-1 at number five singles, with Pauline Schallmo falling 6-0, 6-2 at number six singles. Wilcox and Weber teamed up at number one doubles, losing 8-4. The number two doubles pairing of Valerie Schallmo and Egerman fell 8-5, while Baird and Pauline Schallmo lost 8-2 at number three doubles.
