Megan Kronschnabel took over Waubonsee’s program in the Fall of 2022 after former head coach Steve Kish stepped aside after 10 years at the helm. A native of Las Vegas, Nevada, she was involved with the Vegas volleyball community both as a player and a coach for more than 10 years prior to coming to Sugar Grove. Coach Kronschnabel has worked with a variety of players over the years, ranging from the beginning youth level up to elite level athletes. She will bring energy and excitement, along with a love and passion for the game to the Chiefs’ sideline.

As a player, Kronschnabel helped lead Faith Lutheran High School to three consecutive Nevada 1A state titles in 2013, 2014 and 2015. Her senior year she was named the Nevada State Player of the Year after compiling 1,135 assists, an average of 10.5 per set, to lead the Crusaders to their third straight title. Kronschnabel graduated in 2016 and returned to her alma mater to serve as the Assistant Varsity Coach for the 2018 and 2019 seasons. She also coached at Centennial High School in 2017, another prominent Vegas area program. While still playing, Kronschnabel began coaching club volleyball in 2015. She coached for the Las Vegas Volleyball Academy and Tstreet Volleyball Club-Las Vegas, and will join the 1st Alliance Volleyball Club in Woodridge for the upcoming club season.

After high school Kronschnabel played for a season at San Diego (CA) City College before transferring to the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, where she graduated with a degree in Kinesiology. She currently teaches transitional kindergarten at the Kensington School, which has been a pioneer in early childhood education for over 50 years, with several locations around the Chicagoland area.
