(Mechanicsville, VA) -  Four Waubonsee Community College women's runners participated at the NJCAA Division II Cross Country National Championship Meet on Saturday afternoon near Richmond, Virginia. Elly Kuhn led Waubonsee's quartet as she finished 78^th overall, covering the 5K course at Pole Green Park in a time of 21:22. Melia Perry crossed the finish line 132^nd overall, recording a time of 22:49. The Chiefs' Samantha Garcia came in 144^th and America Chavez placed 153^rd out of 197 competitors.

North Iowa Community College's Sarah Bertry won the race, finishing with a time of 18:21 to cross the finish line 0:16 ahead of the second place runner. Lansing (MI) Community College captured the team title with 78 points, holding off second place Heartland Community College, which tallied 94 points.
