Jesse Laseman is back with the Chiefs for his second season as the men’s and women’s Assistant Cross Country Coach. Last season he helped four Chiefs’ runner’s qualify for the NJCAA National Championship Meet. Laseman has been involved with the sport of Cross Country for the better part of a decade, both as a runner and coach. Born in Rockford, Illinois, he attended Belvidere North High School (BNHS). He was part of the Blue Thunder's 2011 IHSA 2A State Championship and 2012 IHSA 2A Runner-Up teams, coached by Illinois Track and Cross Country Coaches Association Hall of Famer Troy Yunk. Laseman then went on to study at Northern Illinois University where he earned a Bachelor and Master’s degree in Accounting with a minor in Economics, graduating with honors. He currently works as a Senior Internal Auditor for the Arthur J. Gallagher Company. Aside from Waubonsee, Coach Laseman continues to run competitively with the Fox River Trail Runners, having completed several half-marathons and road races locally.
