The 2025 fall season will be Jesse Laseman fifth season as a coach with the Chiefs' men’s and women’s Cross Country program. In his first two seasons he helped four Chiefs’ runner’s qualify for the NJCAA National Championship Meet each year, and the third year he helped guide the women's team to the Region 4 title and a 30th place finish at the National Meet. Laseman has been involved with the sport of Cross Country for more than a decade, both as a runner and coach. Born in Rockford, Illinois, he attended Belvidere North High School (BNHS). He was part of the Blue Thunder's 2011 IHSA 2A State Championship and 2012 IHSA 2A Runner-Up teams, coached by Illinois Track and Cross Country Coaches Association Hall of Famer Troy Yunk. Laseman then went on to study at Northern Illinois University where he earned a Bachelor and Master’s degree in Accounting with a minor in Economics, graduating with honors. He currently works as a Senior Internal Auditor for the Arthur J. Gallagher Company. Aside from Waubonsee, Coach Laseman continues to run competitively with the Fox River Trail Runners, having completed several half-marathons and road races locally.
